The Lough Neagh Partnership is inviting heritage consultants to tender for the development and authorship of a comprehensive 10-Year Heritage Resilience Plan for Lough Neagh. Backed by a £244,000 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, this project is a cornerstone of a broader 2-year Heritage Resilience initiative for Lough Neagh aimed at protecting and enhancing the environmental, cultural, and economic value of the Lough. The plan will be shaped through collaboration with local communities, heritage stakeholders, and experts, and will outline strategic priorities for conservation, governance, sustainability, and resilience.

As the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles, Lough Neagh holds exceptional ecological and cultural significance. This plan seeks to address growing threats such as climate change, threats to natural, built and community heritage, habitat loss, pollution, and the erosion of traditional practices. The successful consultant(s) will play a critical role in crafting a forward-looking blueprint that not only safeguards heritage assets but revitalises them for future generations. The process will follow the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Procurement Good Practice Guidance and will involve ongoing consultation with the Lough Neagh Conservation Heritage Group to ensure a transparent, inclusive, and collaborative approach.
