Lough Neagh Partnership Continues Long-Term Support for the Vital Work of Lough Neagh Rescue
The Lough Neagh Partnership has donated its annual contribution of £7000 to the Lough Neagh Rescue. The Partnership has been working closely with the Rescue service over the last 20 years and has helped in the past to also fund the purchase of new boats and equipment.
This annual donation will help the service with the expensive day to day running costs which have risen dramatically over the last year due to general inflation and more specifically the increase in the cost of fuel.

The Partnership has three operating boats on the Lough involved in bird monitoring and Island conservation work and is well aware of the danger of being on the Lough when the weather turns or if mechanical failure happens and so the need to have a rescue service on hand is an absolute prioity.
Gary McErlain the Chair of the Partnership and a local fisherman himself noted the importance of helping the Rescue Service.
“ The Lough Neagh Rescue is a totally self sufficient voluntary organisation not funded by Government and is made up of highly trained, motivated and professional boatmen and women. It is therefore imperative for all bodies who use the Lough to help support it as much as possible, and continue to help them make the Lough safe for all its users”
